Summary
As our Learning Designer Intern, you will be responsible for teaching cooking methods, standardizing food prep processes, and ensuring consistent taste and quality across all MalaTown kitchens. This role bridges culinary expertise and operational discipline, and plays a crucial part in scaling our brand without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities:
Design a learning experience on core cooking methods, recipes, portioning, and equipment use
Develop and maintain clear, step-by-step Kitchen SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
Conduct in-store and central kitchen trainings on ingredient handling and dish assembly
Perform spot checks and audits to ensure consistency in preparation and presentation
Collaborate with R&D and Ops teams to roll out new menu items with clear instruction sets
Document training feedback and improve materials continuously
Qualifications:
Strong research skill on knowledge of food safety, kitchen workflows, and scaling recipes
Ability to break down complex steps into easy-to-follow instructions (written & visual)
Fluent in English & Mandarin/Spanish is preferred
Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable leading kitchen teams of various experience levels
Willing to travel between store locations if needed

As a Learning & Development Coordinator, you'll play a key role in helping our restaurant staff—from front-of-house to kitchen crew—grow their skills, improve performance, and build long-term careers at Mala Town. You'll design, deliver, and continuously improve training programs that are practical, engaging, and aligned with our store operations.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver in-person and digital training for new hires and existing team members
Support store managers in onboarding, cross-training, and performance coaching
Create easy-to-understand guides, SOPs, and learning checklists for daily tasks
Organize workshops on service standards, food safety, customer interaction, etc.
Collect feedback from employees to improve training content and delivery
Monitor skill development and work with Ops on growth plans and promotions
Foster a positive learning culture that motivates and retains staff
Requirements
Experience in hospitality training or adult learning.
Strong communication and teaching skills (bilingual in English & Spanish is a plus)
Passion for people development, especially in fast-paced environments
Detail-oriented with the ability to create simple, effective training materials
Comfortable traveling between store locations (only when needed)

Join us as a Social Media Operations Intern and help grow MalaTown’s online voice! You'll support content publishing, monitor engagement, and help coordinate digital campaigns across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Xiaohongshu, LinkedIn and more.

Familiar with social media platforms (especially short video)
