The internship opportunities will occur in within the Division of Instructional and Information Technology unit at the NYC Department of Education.
Technical AI Analyst Intern
AI/ML and Data Engineering, DIIT
We are seeking a motivated Technical Business Analyst Intern to join our team and support our AI project requirements gathering efforts. In this role, the intern will work closely with our project managers from DIIT (Division of Instructional and Information Technology) and DLI (Digital Learning Initiative) and AI specialists to understand business needs, elicit and document requirements, and ensure that the final solutions meet stakeholders' expectations.
The intern will have the opportunity to learn about AI technologies and methodologies while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Collaborate with project managers and AI specialists to understand project objectives and requirements.
Analyze and document functional and non-functional requirements for AI projects.Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and deliverables.
Work closely with the development team to ensure that requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
Participate in testing and validation activities to ensure that the final solution meets requirements.
Support the project team in identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
Assist in the preparation of project documentation and presentations.
Knowledge of AI concepts and technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience in business analysis or project management is desirable but not required.
NYU Interns will be provided with an NYC Public Schools email address and will be expected to participate remotely via collaborative workspaces and videoconferencing platforms, like Microsoft Teams.
Primarily remote with once/twice per week in person visit to the Brooklyn office.
