Intern Position Title: QA (Quality Assurance) Tester Intern
Team or Office Requesting the Intern: Compliance vertical – school safety related applications
Position Summary:
Seeking quality assurance tester to help test the next generation (NextGen) school safety related applications for the Office of Safety & Youth Development (OSYD) to ensure product quality.
The intern will implement tests, review system requirements, and track quality assurance metrics.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for quality.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in application testing and contributes to ensuring the highest standards of software quality.
Job Responsibilities
Work with project leads to comprehend the business requirements and functionalities for the in-scope applications.
Analyze requirements and ensure that systems will meet these requirements.
Create detailed and comprehensive test cases.
Identify and document bugs/missing functionalities.
Perform thorough regression testing on resolved bugs.
Compare data between classic applications/reports and NextGen applications/reports.
May involve querying test data in databases.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge in HTML, Word, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and/or exposure in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, C#, SQL
Candidate must have excellent communication skills, works well in a team, enthusiastic, and collaborative.
Working Conditions
NYU Interns will be provided with a NYC Public Schools email address and will be expected to participate remotely via collaborative workspaces and videoconferencing platforms, like Microsoft Teams.
Position is primarily remote, with flexible days of the week
Prefer candidate to be into the office when the managers/project lead(s) is/are there. Check-ins at Main office at 335 Adams St, Brooklyn NY.
