ECT Scavenger Hunt

Hello & Welcome to our ECT Scavenger Hunt! We are excited to kick off our Orientation Mixer with this scavenger hunt to explore NYU's Brooklyn Campus and our program spaces. The goal of this scavenger hunt is also to get to know your classmates through teamwork!

Before you begin the Scavenger Hunt:

  1. Download Goosechase (IOS | Android)

    • Game Code - WP894Q | Password - ect

    • Choose either "Play as Guest" or "Register your Account"

  2. Create your Team

  3. Assign a teammate as the GooseChase Leader, Map Navigator, Stop Tracker *

  4. Need Assistance: Reach out to Beiheng & Hannah via Slack


Roles (at your discretion) *

  1. GooseChase Leader - in charge of answering the missions questions in Goosechase

  2. Map Navigator - will assist in leading the team to the next location throughout the scavenger hunt

  3. Stop Tracker - will scan the QR codes for each stop and discuss with the team each location

We have outlined a list of locations for you to visit in the below map! Click on the purple location pins to get started. Each pin has a link that will lead you to each stop.

370 Jay Street

  • When it opened in 1951, 370 Jay Street signaled a turning point in American architecture.

  • NYU was selected for the construction and operation of a new education and research center at 370 Jay Street.

  • 370 Jay truly serves as a hub for cross-school and cross-major collaboration, a new cornerstone for building community.

NYU MakerSpace

  • The NYU Tandon MakerSpace is a cutting-edge lab aiming to foster projects at the intersection of technology, creativity, and innovation.

  • The MakerSpace hosts the Design Lab which provides NYU students with opportunities to ideate, experiment, prototype, and build their ideas.

  • The MakerSpace provides various machines that enable students to work on different design projects.

  • The MakerSpace is open to all NYU students, staff, and faculty. For the Fall 2021 semester, all users coming into the space must first watch the MakerSpace COVID-19 Policies Video.

Bern Dibner Library

  • Dibner Library maintains a variety of open and reservable study spaces, access to all Tandon required course materials, and assistance in using library resources.

  • For collaborative discussions, you are encouraged to use group study rooms when available. Groups can reserve a small (two-person minimum) or large (four-person minimum) study room for up to three hours per day.

  • You can also access the NYU library's online database with your ID.

NYU Writing Center BK

Room: 104

  • The Writing Center BK is located on the first floor of 5 Metrotech Center.

  • The EWP Writing Center welcomes all student writers from across the NYU community to work collaboratively on writing, from first to final drafts.

  • Both in individual conferences and group workshops, consultants and tutors will collaborate actively with students.

NYU Health Center BK

Room: ROG-B020

  • The Health Center BK is located in the basement of 6 Metrotech Center.

  • The Student Health Center (SHC) is a campus resource and service center for all matriculated students.

  • They offer universal, hassle-free appointment-based and walk-in medical and counseling services at either no cost or very reduced cost to all NYU students.


NYU Athletic Facility

Room: ROG-B001

  • The NYU gym at Brooklyn is located in the basement of 6 Metrotech Center.

  • The gym has an Aerobic Fitness Room, Physical Fitness Room, Locker Rooms, Hallway Lockers, and Showers.

  • They offer recreation courses, such as yoga, dance, taught by professional instructors with years of experience.
