The Opportunity
NAF is seeking an intern to join our team this winter and spring on a part time basis, 15-20 hours per week. This position offers an opportunity to research and develop content and practices for practitioners of work based learning, and to practice instructional design for various projects.
Work will be performed remotely on a flexible schedule however candidates must be available for some hours on ET and PT time zones. NAF will work to identify projects that complement the intern’s specific skill set as well as provide experiences that nurture the skills they would like to develop.
A partial list of responsibilities:
Investigate best practices for virtual curriculum delivery for high school
Aid in the development of content for live websites
Learn and manage analytics related to curriculum offered online
Develop wireframes and mockups
Research in work-based Learning and digital learning in Secondary Education
Organize educator tech meetups for professional learning and U/X focus groups
Qualifications and Skills
Basic understanding of U/X principles
Instructional Design experience
Practical experience with curriculum, ideally high school
Proficiency working remotely
Research and analytical skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
Experience with digital media design and production - design software skills highly desirable
Mentoring:
NAF will organize an initial in-person meeting with the intern to discuss the goals of the internship as well as the specific skills and experiences the intern is interested in developing. Continuous meetings will follow with project leads to ensure guidance and that meaningful work is being provided. This internship is paid.
