The Office of Global Services (OGS) is the resource at NYU for immigration and visa questions. They advise on immigration regulations in the US and visas needed outside of the US for NYU purposes. They also advise on international taxes, moving internationally, and other challenges for NYU faculty and staff. They have a resource for newly admitted international students that may be useful.
If you are an international student, please make sure one of the following scenarios applies to you during the Fall and Spring sessions. Summer and J-term (January) sessions do not require full time enrollment.
FULL TIME: You are registered for 9 credits.
FULL TIME EQUIVALENCY (with Internship): You are under 9 credits but have registered for internship. You need to fill out a Full Time Equivalency Form. Please return this form to ALTStudentServices@nyu.edu, who can sign in place of your advisor.
FULL TIME EQUIVALENCY (with Thesis): You are under 9 credits but have registered for Thesis. You need to fill out a Full Time Equivalency Form. Please check off thesis (last option), place at least 20 hours, give an expected graduation date, and have a title. In addition, make sure you update your expected graduation date on Albert. If any of these are not done, we cannot process your form. Please return completed form to ALTStudentServices@nyu.edu.
