NYU Meyers - Learning Design Internships

About the Internship:

As an intern with Meyers' Instructional Technology office for Fall 2024 you will have the opportunity to work on one or both of the following projects:

• CareMobi – The NYU Meyers is continuing work on a [healthcare app](https://nursing.nyu.edu/w/caremobi) for patients to coordinate their needs with their healthcare provider. It is currently being distributed and can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. This project would include reviewing, planning, designing, and implementing the user education system for those who come to use the app. This may include training modules in tools like Articulate Rise or Storyline, video editing platforms, or the intern’s preferred tools in collaboration with the design team. An intern has been placed here previously.

• Course Redesign – A team from NYU Meyers is managing a dean-sponsored project to transition an online course to a "flipped classroom" format. This revision will consist of reviewing all aspects of an Advanced Pathophysiology course in collaboration with SMEs as it relates to content, engagement, and delivery. The intern will be contributing as part of the team undertaking this work and will support instructional design decisions based off of student feedback, multimedia learning principles, and a "flipped classroom" approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Creative problem-solving, good communication and listening, self-motivated, and organized. 

• We pride ourselves in understanding our users needs and designing solutions in collaboration with the users, even if those solutions are different from the norm.

Internship Details:

• No. of interns – 1-2 graduate level students

• Compensation – unpaid, exploring paid options for future placements

• Location – hybrid/remote, the intern may work remotely on the projects. Wednesday is our “all-in-office” day so we invite their participation at 433 1st Ave if they’re available. We would also like to meet the intern face-to-face either before or at the beginning of placement, coordinated for a meeting at 370 Jay St.

• Timeline – Tue Sep 3 - Fri Dec 13

Other Notes:

• No background in nursing or the medical field is required for either of these projects.

• The intern may use any work in these projects for their portfolio.

• References or recommendations will be offered during and after the placement.

• There is potential for additional projects if the intern is interested.
